Checking in!

Wow, it has been such a long time since I have posted to the bloggity world. So many things have happened, Lila started Kindergarten and life skills class (got pink eye on the 3rd day), great teachers and she enjoys riding her bus. I will be shadowing her this Wednesday to see what her schedule consists of on a daily basis. Ava went into 2nd grade with a great teacher (the week before school started had strep throat), trip to the doctor and medicated her to have her ready for Monday! No way she was missing the 1st day. I have so many pictures to post and can't find my camera cord to download my photos. Both girls will be celebrating their birthday's this month, Lila will be 6 on the 17th and Ava will be 8 on the 28th. I can't believe I have survived this long:)I am feeling a little antsy about Lila's I know she has some great kids she had contact with at her dayschool but not any "come over and play" friends, so I of course am fretting the whole thing. The one blessing is that our families will be with us and we are having everything on ONE day. I know, I know but it really is logistics. Our families don't live close so they all come for the celebrations and we knock it out back to back. Then we all collapse in a cake induced coma and enjoy the evening in the backyard, sipping concoctions and noshing of whatever we order in. My husband resigned his job but then was offered a better position to stay, now has to decide if it is really worth it all with this company. We are under the gun at work and all the while constantly on the look out for the darn hurricanes(Ike). I work for a hospital and our sister hospitals on the coast would need to evacuate to us. The money to prepare for this is outrageous not to mention the tension. On top of that I am down 1 engineer who injured his knee and 2 positions to fill. You would think with the unemployment we would have people scrambling for the job but guess the government pays better to stay home and scatch your &(!^#&E^. I have been keeping up with all the wonderful WS family blogs so I know I am not the only one out here with the everyday trial and tribulations, which I find wierdly comforting. To end on a good note I made goal on Weight Watchers! I feel so much better and if I hadn't been working out, the stress of this all would have surely sent me to a padded room. So to my bloggy friends don't write me off just yet and know that I pray and think of you all everyday.

I think about all of you on the coast lines when I hear of hurricanes coming toward the US. Hope that you guys make it through this one with no big problems.
Glad the girls are liking school.

Don't worry, I haven't written you off yet :)

I think of you guys everyday too. I think about Lila and her Kindergarten and how I wish you guys lived closer! Glad to hear all is well. I always get "antsy" with the whole birthday party thing too. It's never easy.

Glad to hear from you. I am so jealous, I wish I could cram all of my kids b-days in one month. That would be awesome.

I just wanted to thank you for your kind words of encouragement on my recent Snowflakes post. I don't know what I would do without you guys.

Congrats on losing with WW!!!! That's fantastic! I'm like you-you'd think with unemployment rates that people would flock trying to get those jobs. Sad, isn't it?
I hope the girls have great birthdays this month!! Sounds like you all are doing well and I can't wait to see those pics (good luck finding your camera :)

Great job on the weight! It is good to do something for yourself like that. Now you need to buy some new clothes, after the hurricane passes safely.
Keep us updated on kindergarten, I am super curious!

Ha, pink eye went around Niko's kindergarten class the first week, too! A big CONGRATULATIONS on goal, and I'm so proud of you! Sometimes this insanity reminds us that we're truly alive.
